Praachi Raniwala


Praachi Raniwala is an award-winning independent writer and journalist, with over 12 years of experience reporting on fashion, travel, weddings, fine jewellery, luxury and lifestyle for prestigious Indian and international publications. Her work is steeped in looking at her industry through an anthropological and investigative lens, while exploring how they inform the cultural zeitgeist. Praachi is also passionate about spotlighting Indian talent and culture on global platforms.  

Her words have been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, FT’s How To Spend It, Vogue India & Australia, InStyle US, Condé Nast Traveller India, Harper’s Bazaar India & Arabia, Khaleej Times Dubai, Brides.com, Mint Lounge, The Voice of Fashion, Dua Lipa’s Service95, House Notes by Soho House, GQ India, Architectural Digest India and Hindustan Times among many others. She was also awarded the ‘Fashion Writer of the Year’ by India Fashion Awards 2022.

Praachi also creates brand narratives for leading design houses and provides consultation on communication strategy. Most recently, she also hosts intimate workshops and individual coaching sessions on topics like freelance writing 101, pitching, and working in the fashion and lifestyle industry. As a multi-hyphenate, she is also the co-founder of a Mumbai-based boutique floral arrangement company Bloom Barn, launched in January 2021, where she handles brand strategy and creative direction.

An advertising and communications major from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, Praachi also has a post-graduate degree in fashion and lifestyle journalism from London College of Fashion. She then worked in the editorial department at L’Officiel India for two years, after which she decided to take the scenic route aka freelancing.
